IBM’s latest release of its personal analytics solution Cognos Insight v 10.2 enables business users and analysts to independently and easily access business information and share it with others.

And there’s a Personal Edition which is free for non-commercial use.

Anyone can easily import personal or business data from spreadsheets or csv files, select visualisations of the data, drill down for trends, and more. Use drag and drop data visualisation, what-if scenario modelling, and dashboard style delivery. The new version also includes several new functions such as easier data import, automatic interpretation of data, improved visualisation, a new "tree map" chart style, more interactive charting, and predefined calculations.

The free version is available from AnalyticsZone, the Cognos Insight community website.
