What you need to know about IBM Maximo 7.6.1.

With the festive season now fast approaching could IBM have given us an early Christmas present with their new release, 7.6.1 of IBM Maximo?

As an asset professional, I have to say that it does seem to tick most of my Christmas wish list. But when you tear-off the shiny wrapper, will it live up to the hype that surrounds it?

If you are an IBM Maximo User then you are probably already aware of the newest release. It has been big news in the Asset Intensive Industry and for good reason. With IBM Maximo, not all version releases are created equal and 7.6.1 is the first major update/release since late 2014.

This highly anticipated release promises Maximo Users the biggest new range of new features and capabilities of any update so far.

Whilst there is a host of new functionality, the improvements to the User Interface are also very welcome. Maximo has always been the market leader, but its functionality has always outperformed it’s form.

Let’s face it, Maximo worked well but it was never beautiful.

With the new release  that all changes, providing a more immersive, engaging and intuitive interface.

However, the UI improvements are just the tip of the iceberg - amongst the new features and capabilities in Maximo 7.6.1 are updates to the installation process, a new user interface skin, and additions to help manage personal information, enhancements to multiple Work Centres and a system property that controls authentication for the Maximo Integration Framework to name but a few.
